The chalk headland at Beer is a very distinctive and attractive feature of the coastline it is rich in heritage and is internationally designated for the wildlife it supports. The route will take us down into the Branscombe Valley an areas whose history has shaped its landscape. There are many stories to tell before we climb out of the valley, enjoying the views, and back to Beer. > DURATION: 3 hours* > DISTANCE: 5.6 miles > TOTAL CLIMB: 295 m (along the route) * All route timings are based upon plotaroute.com data and will vary according to the time the group chooses to spend enjoying the views and soaking up the character of the area. TERRAIN A walk using countryside footpaths with gentle sections but with one moderately severe ascent and a downhill section along a trackway. FACILITIES There are no public toilets on this route - only in nearby Beer village. WHAT DO I NEED • Something to eat and drink, there are no shops on this route. • Shoes suitable for walking on uneven ground and weather conditions. (walking boots in wet weather but walking shoes or shoes with a good tread in drier times). • A waterproof jacket is essential in the British climate . • If rain is forecast, waterproof trousers are a good idea, but hopefully they will not be needed. • A warm layer in case its not as warm, or perhaps windier, than you expect. • Sun protection: sun cream, sunglasses and a sun hat. NEARBY PLACES WORTH A VISIT The village of Beer popular with smugglers in the 18th century! is a hidden gem, with numerous places to eat, drink and shop.


Cancellation Policy

The fee for each walk is payable on booking. I understand sometimes plans need to change so I will do my best to accommodate these. However, please note that adjustments are subject to availability and adherence to the cancellation policy. • Cancellations made 3 or more days prior to the booked event will receive a full refund.  • Cancellations made less than 3 days prior to the booked event will receive a 50% refund or we can try and arrange an alternative date. If we are able to fill the spot with another group, a full refund will be offered. • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule walks due to inclement weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will make every effort to reschedule the walk for a mutually agreeable date or offer a full refund if the group are unable to reschedule. • Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are physically capable of completing the walk and should notify the guide of any health concerns or medical conditions in advance.  • If the guide feels that a group member is not physically capable of completing the walk or could be a safety risk to themselves or others, then the walk might be cancelled or an alternative route adopted. Please note: in such circumstances the agreed fee will still be payable.
